Horsethief Butte Winter Bouldering
When we get the winter rains, there is another option to going to the gym. You can go east, the rain shadow of the Cascades usually starts around Hood River, unless the storm is really big, and has plans to bully over everything. This past weekend we had rain at all our Mid Gorge spots, rain as we were leaving town but as we got past Hood River the skies started to clear. By the time we got to Horsethief Butte, temps were climbing into the 50's, which to me is send weather. Crisp and cold, that's how I like my winter climbs. Enough talk, her's a pic or two.
We hit this upper Hidden Canyon in the morning, then went Rah Cheer and Right Dere.
Then we had a lovely lunch, our friends showed up and we sent again!
